TaqI

TaqI is a Restriction Endonuclease purified from an Escherichia coli strain that carries the TaqI gene from Thermus aquaticus. TaqI activity is blocked by overlapping Dam methylation. NZYtech’s TaqI is an enzyme that acts at 37 °C or 65 °C.

Restriction enzymes are used to recognize a specific sequence of nucleotides and cut double stranded DNA into smaller fragments at a specific location. Each restriction enzyme recognises different DNA sequences. TaqI is a Restriction Endonuclease purified from an Escherichia coli strain that carries the TaqI gene from Thermus aquaticus. TaqI activity is blocked by overlapping Dam methylation. The enzyme acts at 37 °C or alternatively at 65 °C.

Concentration: 10000 U/mL

Reaction Buffer: NZYtech provides TaqI with a specific buffer, NZYBuffer C. For double digestions please use 10x NZYBuffer U (MB110, not provided).

Activity in NZYtech Buffers:
NZYBuffer A: 80%
NZYBuffer B: 80%
NZYBuffer C: 100%
NZYBuffer U: 100%

Minimize exposure of enzyme to temperatures higher than -20 °C.

Incubation Temperature 37 °C/65 °C
